The Bookies Rigs Three Hook Flapper Rig is hand tied by Dean and is his go to rig for scratching out smaller species. The Three Hook Flapper rig is an effective way of presenting three baits at close to medium range. The two up, one down design gives three slightly different bait presentations to maximise your opportunities and also give the chance of ‘triple shot’.
The rig is perfect for targeting smaller species such as whiting, pout, flatties and rockling and is ideal for scratching out bait or just to boost your species tally.
You can use a variety of baits with fish, squid and worm all working well. A handy tip is to use different baits to see if the fish have a preference for one over the others
The rig is tied from premium components and the 80lb rig body allows safe powerful casting, The 3 x #2 Varivas Saltwater Champion are tied to 20lb Amnesia snoods and feature a sliding silicone bait stop and sequin. This is handy with worm baits and slides in place to suit your desired bait size.
The rig is tied using Seadra swivel crimps finished with a high quality Seadra X3 crane swivel and Gemini Rig Link lead clip.
Dean Booker is a well-known Welsh saltwater specimen angler who uses his simple but thorough approach to regularly make good catches.
VMO have been collaborating with Dean to make a series of informative and entertaining YouTube episodes and these have featured the rigs which Dean uses for his fishing. We have had a large number of enquiries about the rigs so Dean has been tying extra rigs so that you too can have the right rig to help you catch.
